The City

Founded as the settlement Lipzk (Place by the Linden (lat. tilia)) around 900 A.D. by Slavs, Leipzig today is a dynamic city of 500,000 and home to Tilia.

The energy sector as a source of value creation and employment for cities and regions

Pioneer in the regional energy sector in Europe, Tilia has become a key reference and can help you define comprehensive energy and sustainable development strategies.

A few examples:

  • Joint development of the strategic roadmap for local energy service companies: gas, electricity, transport, services. Creating new activities, renewing regional partnerships, building public capabilities, reshaping relations with local stakeholders.
  • Development of a sustainable development regional strategy including a concrete action plan for several regions in Europe: identifying and quantifying energy potentials, investment scenarios, development strategies and evaluating the overall value creation for the region.
  • Energy optimization of the waste cycle for a 220,000 inhabitants city: setting up of a biogas cogeneration fed with organic waste, design of an energy efficiency investment plan prioritized in 20 points. Benefits for the city: 10 million Euros per year.
